- Active planetary transits and potentially challenging periods in their themes
- The most successful days of the month and unlucky ones (empty hands)
- Total Lunar Eclipse and partial Solar Eclipse
Greetings, dear friends! September 2025 will become a truly unique month, which I call without exaggeration the “month of accelerated processes.” What usually happens in our lives over six months can occur literally in a few weeks in September.
Why does this happen? The fact is that this month, we observe an incredibly active energy exchange between planets and Earth. Imagine a huge, energetic cauldron where all processes proceed at double speed. This can become both your greatest advantage and a serious challenge, so it’s very important to know how to properly use these energies.
The beginning of the month and its features
September opens quite controversially. September 1st, when children go to school and many of us tune into a new work rhythm, falls on one of the inauspicious lunar days. This creates an interesting, energetic paradox: we want to start something new, while cosmic energies tell us “wait, don’t rush.”
For those who have school-age children, I especially recommend making a small offering to Goddess Saraswati, the patroness of knowledge and wisdom, on this day. This can be something very simple: light a candle or lamp, place flowers or fruits nearby, and sincerely ask for blessings for education. Such practice will help soften the unfavorable influence of the lunar day and create positive energetic support for the educational process.
The entire first period of the month is characterized by several days that I, as an astrologer, call “empty hands days.” These are September 1, 6, 7, 10, 11, 15, 20, 21, 25, and 30. On these days, it’s better not to start anything fundamentally new and important. Imagine that the Universe gives you a timeout, time for reflection, planning, and completing old matters.
But there’s also very good news! We also have so-called “strong days” when cosmic energies especially favor any undertakings. These are September 2, 5, 12, 18, 19, 23, 26, and 29. On these days, you can and should plan important meetings, contract signings, new project launches, and romantic dates.
Total lunar eclipse on September 7th
On September 7th, we await a total lunar eclipse, and this event requires special attention. The fact is that any eclipse creates a special energetic situation around Earth, which in the Vedic tradition is called “Sutak.” This is a period when the most destructive, damaging energy accumulates in our planet’s energetic shell.
What’s especially important to understand: the “Sutak” period begins not during the eclipse itself, but nine hours before its peak. That is, we begin to feel the negative influence long before the eclipse becomes visible. During these hours, it’s extremely not recommended to plan anything important, make serious decisions, or sign documents.
Particular caution should be exercised by women on this day, as well as people born under the signs of Leo and Aquarius, since these constellations will become the “place of eclipse.” Sagittarians and Pisces may also feel a stronger influence of this cosmic event.
My advice for this day: observe a feasible fast, spend more time in prayer or meditation, avoid conflict situations, and try to be as calm and patient as possible. Remember that this is a temporary phenomenon, and after the eclipse ends, the energetic situation will normalize.
Special day of spiritual power
September 3rd marks Parshva Ekadashi, one of the most important fasting days in the Vedic calendar. This day possesses special spiritual power, and it’s connected with an amazing legend that explains why fasting on Ekadashi is so powerful.
According to ancient texts, when the Supreme Lord was creating this material world, He simultaneously created a personality who was the embodiment of all sins – Papapurusha. This black-colored being with yellow eyes brought suffering to all impious living beings. Each part of his body was created from different types of sinful actions: the head from killing holy people, the eyes from intoxication, the mouth from theft, and so on.
But when the Lord saw how sinners suffer in hell, His heart filled with compassion. Then He manifested from Himself a special form – the day of Ekadashi, which became an antidote to all sins. Papapurusha, seeing what power this day had, appealed to the Lord with a plea for protection, fearing complete destruction.
And the Lord gave him refuge: “On Ekadashi days, you can hide in grain products. Therefore, one who truly wants to be purified of sins should never eat grains on these sacred days.”
This is why, traditionally, on Ekadashi, grains, legumes, as well as onions and garlic, are not consumed. You can eat fruits, dairy products, nuts, and potatoes. But the most important thing is not the diet, but the inner state: the day should be devoted to thoughts about the sublime, prayer, and reading sacred texts. Even if someone observes this fast accidentally or by mistake, they still receive enormous spiritual benefit.
Planetary transits and their influence
Mid-month will bring us several important planetary transitions that will significantly change the energetic atmosphere. On September 14-15, Venus transitions from the sign of Cancer to the sign of Leo. This is a very interesting moment because the planet of love and beauty will pass through the energies of two completely different elements: water and fire.
Imagine a person who first bathes in a cool lake and then suddenly finds themselves next to a bonfire. Venus will experience approximately the same “temperature fluctuations,” and consequently, all spheres of life that it governs. During these two days, I extremely don’t recommend engaging in matters related to beauty, jewelry, luxury items, and comfort. This can also become a tense time for romantic relationships.
Representatives of Libra, Taurus, Cancer, and Leo should be especially attentive. For them, these energetic fluctuations may cause stronger emotional reactions.
On September 15th, Mercury enters its own sign Virgo, and this, on the contrary, is a very positive event. When a planet is in its home, it manifests all its best qualities most brightly. Mercury in Virgo gives an incredibly sharp mind, the ability to notice the smallest details, find errors and inaccuracies in any documents or situations.
This is an ideal time for negotiations, financial analysis, information work, and learning something new. Your intellect during this period will work like a supercomputer. But there’s one important caveat: the transition period from September 14-16 is better not used for financial operations and major deal conclusions, since the energies haven’t stabilized yet.
Solar Transit
September 16th begins a very important period: the Sun transitions into the sign of Virgo and will remain there until October 17th. I call this transit the “month of self-discipline and inner work.”
The formula for effective behavior during this period sounds like this: look less at how the surrounding world reacts, and try more to examine your true essence and possibilities.
The Sun in Virgo calls us to honest self-analysis, to work on our own shortcomings, and to develop practical skills.
This is a time when it’s extremely important to do something concrete and practical for yourself. Perhaps you’ve long postponed learning a new language or mastering a computer program? Or maybe you wanted to take care of your health or organize your finances? The Sun’s transit through Virgo will give you the necessary energy and motivation for such matters.
Working with ancestors
September 17th begins a special two-week period that, in the Vedic tradition, is dedicated to working with ancestral karma and honoring ancestors. This fast is called Pitru Paksha, and it has enormous significance for those who seriously engage in spiritual development and want to heal problems passed down through the lineage.
It’s important to understand that this is not just a beautiful ritual, but a serious spiritual practice that can really change the destinies not only of departed relatives, but also of all living descendants. It’s believed that properly conducted ceremonies in honor of ancestors contribute to their better reincarnation and simultaneously solve many problems in descendants’ lives.
But there are fundamental rules here that cannot be broken:
- Traditionally, such rituals should only be conducted by the eldest family member.
- If your parents or grandparents are alive, then only they have the right to perform these ceremonies.
- If elder relatives have already left the earthly plane, then responsibility passes to the eldest child, even if it’s a woman.
What should those do who are not the eldest in the family but feel an inner need to honor ancestors’ memory? In this case, you can order a prayer service in church or conduct your own memorial ceremony on Amavasya day, which falls on September 21st.
New Moon and Solar Eclipse
September 21st awaits us with another important astronomical event: a new moon coinciding with a partial solar eclipse. This day requires maximum caution and attention to your condition.
On such days, the energetic situation becomes very unstable, so it’s categorically not recommended to engage in completing any matters or projects. This is also an unsuitable time for harsh forms of interaction, confrontation, and clarifying relationships with ill-wishers. I extremely don’t advise lending money or borrowing on this day.
From a health perspective, during the eclipse period, problems with the oral cavity, digestive system, and reproductive organs may worsen. Various skin reactions, allergies, and increased sensitivity are possible. Therefore, be especially attentive to your well-being and seek medical attention at the first unpleasant symptoms.
Autumn Equinox and Spiritual Practices
September 22nd brings the autumn equinox, one of the most important days of the year from the perspective of spiritual practices. In the Vedic tradition, this time is called Sharada Vishwa, a moment of perfect balance between light and darkness, day and night.
From this day begins Sharad Navratri, a nine-day festival dedicated to worshipping the Divine Feminine in the form of Goddess Durga. This festival celebrates the victory of good over evil and is a time of deep self-analysis, spiritual purification, and renewal.
The main idea of Navratri is that we invoke the protective energy of the Divine Mother, who will help us pass through the coming months of autumn and winter. Each of the nine days is dedicated to worshipping different aspects of the Goddess, and each day has its special rituals and prayers.
If you want to participate in this festival, start by setting up a home altar. Place a beautiful vessel with clean water, add some sacred grains (rice, wheat), and decorate with coconut and flowers. This symbolizes invoking the Goddess’s presence into your home.
Many observe a special fast during these nine days, excluding onions, garlic, regular salt, grains, and legumes from their diet. Fruits, dairy products, potatoes, and certain types of flour are allowed. But the main thing is not the diet, but the inner state: each day should be devoted to prayers, contemplation of the sublime, and reading sacred texts.
If you feel that such rituals resonate in your heart and want to study ancient wisdom more deeply, I invite you to familiarize yourself with the complete calendar of Vedic rituals for the entire year.
Ayurvedic Recommendations
From an Ayurvedic perspective, the autumn equinox marks the beginning of a period when vata dosha, the energy of wind and ether, begins to dominate in nature. This means our organism becomes more susceptible to dryness, cold, and anxiety.
To support balance during this time of year, it’s very important to change your diet. The main emphasis should be on warm, moist, and nutritious foods that will help neutralize the dryness and cold characteristic of vata dosha. Include more cooked root vegetables, squash, sweet potatoes, and various whole-grain porridges in your menu.
Ghee is especially recommended, as it possesses amazing nutritional and moisturizing properties. Use warming spices:
- ginger wonderfully warms from within;
- cinnamon improves digestion;
- cumin helps food assimilation;
- turmeric is a natural antibiotic.
What you should avoid or minimize are raw vegetables, cold drinks, and frozen products. It’s also better to limit foods with bitter, spicy, or astringent tastes.
It’s very important during this period to establish a clear daily routine. Go to bed and wake up at the same time, and eat meals on schedule. This will help calm the nervous system and create a sense of stability.
One of the most beneficial autumn practices is daily oil massage of the entire body. Use warm sesame, almond oil, or special Ayurvedic oils. Such a massage not only nourishes the skin but also calms the nervous system, improves sleep, and boosts immunity.
Regarding physical exercises, in autumn, it’s better to prefer gentle, stabilizing practices. Yoga with emphasis on standing poses is ideal, such as Warrior I and II, Mountain Pose, as well as calming asanas like Child’s Pose. Avoid overly intense workouts.
